Lapid's Achara

This is one of the best acharas I have ever tried. I have bought and tried other brands (since I don't know how to cook it) and so far, this is the brand I keep coming back to.

Sweet-sour... pickled with just the right amount of bite into it... has pepper strips, onions and julienned carrots...

My adobo is never complete without Lapid's Achara. It makes my adobo taste even more delicious. As they say, it is "Nakakagana".

Lapid's is not just a chicharon brand for me now.

Kia Pride 2000

We searched for months... here and there... test-drove almost a dozen Kia's from Buy and Sell and from all the ads that came our way, but couldn't find that one special IT. that one special second hand Kia pride that would be so worth the price.

Until that Sunday morning we chanced upon this on the Manila Bulletin! I thought we'd never find her! We loved her the moment we laid eyes on her... and when we rode her, I knew she was IT!

I have never seen a second hand car as well maintained as this... everything seemed new and mint.. with only 45,ooo kilometers on its mileage...It was indeed one lucky find. Even our suking mekaniko said so. Yey!

It was time to say goodbye to my old red reliable Kia CD5... and send in my "new" green one. With gas prices going up and crazy traffic everywhere in the Metro, Kia is the car to beat. Easy to drive.. easy to maintain.. and easy on gas! I just love Kia.

Movie Night: John Tucker Must Die and Pathology

Yes, I saw two movies on DVD tonight. John Tucker Must Die and Pathology... one was entertaining... the other was quite disturbing.... I guess it is easy to figure out which is which.

CCME

Hosting a party is no longer scary for those who don't really know how to cook for a big group. (me, included). Well, thanks to CCME, all it takes is just a call and you're party food is all set!

My brother in law arranged this lunch for some balikbayan guests and everyone enjoyed the food while we enjoyed the hosting.

We didn't even lift a finger to prepare any of the dishes since every single one was delivered in these pans, hot and ready.

Chopsuey and Menudo

Fish Fillet and Roast Beef

.... and of course, chicken barbecue!

CCME is definitely a host's new best friend.

Another Movie Night: Kung Fu Panda

I don't see how anyone wouldn't enjoy this movie. This is pure fun and entertainment! Both kids and adults will love this one. I haven't seen a movie in a long while where both the young and the not-so-young were enjoying themselves in the moviehouse! This is a must-see.

Another Movie Night: No Reservations

It's another light romance, light comedy film. Though I would have probably categorized this as light drama with a pervading melancholic mood, owing to the tragic events in the storyline. Teetering on boring and dragging at times, the movie is quite predictable. But at least it was able to end on a happy and positive note. (Age is fast catching up on the once drop dead gorgeous women of hollywood... )

Luk Yuen

I wasn't expecting to enjoy our lunch at Luk Yuen in Greenhills last week but I did! The last time Mon and I dined there a long time ago, the menu was just limited to congee and some dimsum. So when we went back, I was surprised to see a lot of changes.
Not only did the ambiance get a facelift from the renovation of the interiors, but the menu as well.

Fish fillet with Ham (left) and Beef with Broccoli (right)

Lemon Chicken (left) and Yang Chow Fried Rice (left)

The noodles was my favorite of all... I'll be back for seconds... well at least this Cantonese noodle dish they served with lots of shitakii mushrooms which was so flavorful and delicious! I just have to have this again.

Magnolia Pancake Plus

No more sifting... no more measuring... no more eggs... no more need for syrup! Yes, Magnolia has made pancake making a breeze. True to what is written on its box, one really just needs to water to make great breakfast pancakes!

It is as nutritious as any other pancake with even simpler instructions that even a child can follow.

The package comes with perfectly measured powder mixture and its own maple syrup! No need to buy a separate bottle of maple syrup for just one morning's breakfast.

Simply dissolve the powder mixture in a bowl and voila! You're all set to go.... once the lumps are gone.

Watch how your pancakes turn from this to this... perfectly cooked to your desired browness.

It is one of my favorite breakfast treats now. It is perfect for people (like me) who want their pancakes fast, easy, complete and delicious.
