Movie Night: Transformers 3

Terminator 3
Hubby and I treated ourselves to a movie night of pure entertainment by watching Transformers 3. The computer graphics now keeps getting better and better; it is so hard to suspend your sense of reality while watching the movie because everything seems so true and alive! I didn't care about the story... I didn't care about the reason or logic behind it. For as long as it was packed with entertainment value, which is how a movie with robots romping around the city should be, we were happy with it! To those who are still going to watch, relax and just have fun with it. Feast your eyes, not your brains!

Thor in 3D

I am glad I let my hubby talk me into watching Thor in 3D. The movie is well written, has a great cast and showcases great special effects!
I can't wait for the next Marvel movie!

Kimmy Dora

If there is one movie I would recommend everyone to watch, that would be Eugene Domingo's first solo starrer Kimmy Dora. I had tons of fun watching this. I haven't laughed that much watching a local comedy film as I have in KD... I love everything about it... from the costume design, to the witty script, to the storyline, to the cast, and yes, Eugene Domingo's acting.... She is truly one gem in the business.
This I would want to watch over and over. It is a great pick-me-upper anytime of the day. I gotta get me an original DVD when it gets released, hopefully, soon.

Movie Night: One True Love

This is probably the only movie I have seen about amnesia that ended the way it did, and I liked it. The lead actor returns to his one true love, still in a state of amnesia, because that is what his heart is telling him to do... what can be more romantic than that.... proving that love, when true, can come more than once in a liftetime with that one true love....
..... and that love is not just a memory; it is not just in the mind but in the heart.

Movie Night: For The First Time

I was finally able to watch this on DVD the other night. When this opened in theaters, I had a hard time deciding whether I would watch it or just wait until the DVD comes out.... and after seeing this the other night, I was so glad I opted to wait!

I can't help but compare this to Sarah Geronimo's "A Very Special Love" which I just recently saw too, since both were produced by Star Cinema, both were youth oriented, both were launching movies of the female leads, both featured new love team-ups, both were love stories. But their similarities end there. This movie was everything that "A Very Special Love" wasn't.

The story itself is a mess, with too much conflict going on with the leading female character. The script was so poorly written. The acting was pityful... attempts at coming on naturally made their performances even more feigned, forced and studied.

For me, nothing saved the day for this movie. Not the beginning, definitely not the middle, and most certainly not the ending. Maybe they should have kept the story really simple and light. Even for just fifty bucks, I still felt shortchanged.

Movie Night: A Very Special Love

I didn't expect to like this movie but I did! I was skeptic at first, thinking that there just isn't any chemistry between the two lead stars. I thought John Lloyd is too mature for Sarah, and their personalities, he being too serious an actor, and she being too bubbly and young, just wouldn't gel.

But kudos to the writers and director of this film, they were able to capitalize on the very aspects that made me think this movie wasn't going to click, and made them the selling points of the movie.

I'm glad I watched this feel-good film. Not since My Bestfriend's Girlfriend did I have a good laugh watching a local film. This film is sheer fun with a little tug at the heartstrings.

Movie Night: Caregiver

Saw this the other night. It wasn't great, but it was ok. It was a bit boring in some parts; scenes were dragging, but overall, it was a good watch.

My Other Favorite TV Series

When I am in the mood for a good serious tv viewing at night, I just pick from these shows and I am guaranteed an hour or two of well spent leisure time in front of the tube.

Movie Night: Made Of Honor

Another light romantic comedy flick... a feel-good movie... sort of like the "male version" of Julia's "My Bestfriend's Wedding" which I loved too.

Friends

Oh ok, you can laugh all you want. I know I may be more than a decade late to be writing and raving about this show, but hey, It doesn't mean I couldn't enjoy it as much as you and everyone else did! It is probably one of theeeeee best shows ever on earth, right? Gosh, where was I while Friends was running! And to think it ran for 10 seasons and I never saw a single episode of it! Well, thank god the dvds are still around... I just got myself the 'real' and the 'not so real" boxed sets. Now I don't have to be at the mercy of Monday reruns on cable! Yey!

Movie Night: John Tucker Must Die and Pathology

Yes, I saw two movies on DVD tonight. John Tucker Must Die and Pathology... one was entertaining... the other was quite disturbing.... I guess it is easy to figure out which is which.

Another Movie Night: Kung Fu Panda

I don't see how anyone wouldn't enjoy this movie. This is pure fun and entertainment! Both kids and adults will love this one. I haven't seen a movie in a long while where both the young and the not-so-young were enjoying themselves in the moviehouse! This is a must-see.

Another Movie Night: No Reservations

It's another light romance, light comedy film. Though I would have probably categorized this as light drama with a pervading melancholic mood, owing to the tragic events in the storyline. Teetering on boring and dragging at times, the movie is quite predictable. But at least it was able to end on a happy and positive note. (Age is fast catching up on the once drop dead gorgeous women of hollywood... )

Another Move Night: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I am embarassed to say that I have never seen any Indiana Jones movie before. So when Mon wanted to watch this, I was not expecting much. I wasn't even sure I would like it. But after watching, I wish I had seen all of Indy's adventures in the past.

Ploning

We like the movie. It has a certain mood and atmosphere that is consistent throughout the film. The cast is great as well as the visuals. And it has a story to tell. We're proud to have seen this film.
