These little sweet treats wrapped in white cellophane are made from carabao's milk and originated from Bulacan, homemade by carabao-rearing farmers.
My husband loves pastillas de leche. I always bring home a bag or two from Red Ribbon or Goldilocks just for him.
It was my Kumareng Cecile who told me to try this specific brand of pastillas de leche which she bought in Market Market.
Sevilla's is THE BEST..glad someone introduced this to you. Buti na lang meron na sa Market Market. A few yrs back, you could only get them at Greenhills and San Miguel, Bulacan (!!).
ReplyDeleteI've been to a place where they make these..and it's weird how they make them. There was literally a bundok of pastillas on top of a table, and then the workers would get a small piece and roll it on a plate of sugar. I'm telling you, a bundok of pastillas is a sight to behold..I was drooling a waterfall.
leeney, twas a good thing my kumare is such a pastillas lover too, like Mon. though im not much of a fan, i would have to agree that Sevillas is by far the best ive tried. yup. meron na sa market market. may cell number pa nga sa packaging eh. o diba! ;-) swerte mo, you have seen a mountain of pastillas! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of pastillas in a bottle? I think they also have that in Market! Market! kaya lang wala akong nakita when we went there before. Parang less than 100 pesos a bottle. That we have to try. =D
