Although it has been an old family tradition for others to dine at Panciteria San Jacinto, it was a first time for me that day.
The place has gotten a fresh new facelift mixing the look of the old Manila Chinatown and the taste and feel of American country charm.
... spaceous, bright, clean and cheerful interiors...
And of course, the food, they said, has remained the same. Freshly cooked, hot and delicious.
... cold cuts platter and their yang chow fried rice...
.... pancit canton.... and mixed vegetables...
... sweet and sour fish and the classic fried chicken...
yummy! this early morning i'm really getting hungry! i'm always curious about this restaurant in my college days but never got the chance to dine in here.
ReplyDeletesyel, oo, ang tagal na nito diba... i used to see this around too. pero nag renovate sila. much much better na ang dating! sossy na...
ReplyDeletedati, mukang chinese carinderia lang, ngayon, bongga na.
i read from their site na 1890s pa pala ito nagsimula sa binondo! galeng no!
1890! Aba malapit na akong ipanganak nuon bakit na missed ko yata altogether ang resto na ito. Tago ba? Next time I visit Pinas, I'll ask your help to direct me to this place. Nakakatulong laway ang mga pagkaing ipinakita mo.
ReplyDeletenakakagutom na naman post mo, doc!! :) hindi ko pa na-try yan.. where is that resto located? okay naman ba prices?
ReplyDeletebertN, hahaha... actually, the branch i frequently saw noon was along Quezon Ave. dingy looking kasi... parang carinderia lang na inuman place. pero this branch we dined in was carinderia-ish din noon, but got a major facelift. sige, just say when... ;-) id be glad to direct you.
ReplyDeletebiancs, the prices are suprisingly affordable ha! this branch is along C5 road. right across from SM Hypermart, the one near Tiendesitas. across sha. right beside Mom and Tina's bakery cafe. try mo din pag may craving ka for chinese chow.

Hi Gita! This is Jessica General, your classmate from PCHS years back, we'll not count, heheh! For nostalgia reasons I was googling 'San Jacinto Panciteria', that was the hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Chinatown where my dad used to take us some weekends. I loved their pork asado & cashew chicken. Out of this world sa kasarapan. Then I saw your blog, and am excited to find you're a foodie like me! You've got some yummy pictures here...
