Almon Marina at Festival Mall

It was with much excitement that I got to visit Almon Marina again after a very very long time. We missed the good food, the cool interiors and the cozy ambiance....

At their Festival Mall branch, the interiors have modernized a bit... but still comfy and easeful and bright.

Orders are served after placing them at the counter...

The food was still presented in very appetizing ways...

(beef rib plate)

(Fish and chips plate )

Unfortunately, although my food (my beef rib) tasted the same, their meat was really really tough and difficult to cut thru, like it was cooked frozen... even M's who tried their Fish and fries for the first time said it wasn't anything special.... I was so disappointed with our meal....

Maybe it was just the branch, I don't know..... but I don't think we would be coming back to Almon Marina for another long time.

JolliNation

I wasn't planning on blogging tonight but I couldn't help but shoot and write about this. We decided to have a simple Jollibee drive thru dinner on our way home. And as we were ordering our food, we saw this red box right at the window sill!

It was a Jollibee doll, the doll I have been looking for for a long long time now! And, as if the doll is not enough, the box had an extra costume and accessories to dress him up with! (There are actually different sets to choose from, depending on the nation of your choice.)

Among the nations available, we picked the United States of America set. So, what exactly are in the box?

.... his tux...

.... his torch.... his hat! What can be cooler than that!

Go ahead, get your own Jollibee JolliNation doll before stocks run out!

Krispy Kreme Valentine Doughnuts

I know.... February is almost over and it has been almost a week since Valentine's day. But Krispy Kreme still offers these heart shaped donuts on their menu and they were just simply irresistible when we went for drive-thru today.

It gets even more irresistible up close...

... once you start biting into it, there is no stopping you...

Maybe it's a bit late to be greeting everyone a Happy Valentine's day, but it's not to enjoy and indulge in these hearty treats.

David's Tea House

We felt like having Chinese food that Sunday in MOA so we decided to try David's Tea House. The interiors was brightly lit and brightly colored, and, naturally, with a lot of Chinese accents.

Service was commendable... fast ... not missing a single order or drink. I wish I could say the same, though, about the food. We ordered several dishes good for the four of us.

.. the spinach soup...

Tofu -something....

....yang chow fried rice.... always a mainstay at our table whenever we go Chinese...

... noodles and chicken...

The dishes were served hot and were filling... but there probably was just too much MSG in them that they all tasted the same to me... everything was just malinamnam that I couldn't tell one from the other...
After the meal, I was not sure if I could call it luck that despite the huge crowd that weekend in MOA, we were able to get a table.
Will we be back at David's? Hmmmm, maybe not for a long while.

VFP Museum

It is a War Museum right in the hear of Taguig City. It was my father in law who read about this and wanted to see what the museum is all about. Although it was quite difficult to find, we were able to find our way thru the narrow and winding roads by asking around for directions.

.... the lobby with its impressive murals...

....at the center of the museum is the wide display of World War II ammunitions...

The many dioramas on the second floor take you back in time...

... plus a photo gallery... a film showing... books, documents and newspaper clippings.... the museum is a must-see for our youth for them to get a clearer grasp of what our forefathers have fought for.
