Espresso

This 3-cup stove-top espresso maker  (moka pot)  makes amazing coffee right in the comfort of my kitchen!  Now I don't need to go to these commercial coffee shops anymore just to have that perfect brew which costs so much!

Prawn Chips

 A friend recommended this when I couldn't find Besuto Prawn Crackers in grocery shelves anymore.   And I am glad I listened to her,  because this brand is really good!   Those kropeks  you love that come with your fried chicken in Chinese restaurants... these chips might actually  be the next best thing!

Bonchon's Crispy Shrimp Rice

I was ready to unlike this when I ordered,   thinking it might just be some ordinary tasting battered shrimps with glaze.  But once again,    I was wrong.   There was nothing ordinary about the taste.   The breading was crisp to the bite and not too thick.  The shrimps were fresh and sweet.  And the glaze had that distinct Bonchon flavor.  I will definitely order this again.

Yellow Cab Pizza's Four Seasons

Hubs and I like YCP's Four Seasons flavor because it is like having 4 pizzas in one.  

Adobo Connection: Revisited

Went back to Adobo Connection to try their other adobo variants on the menu:   The sweet and the dry.  Both were good,  though they wouldn't be something I couldn't whip up in my own kitchen myself.  But for quick adobo cravings,  these will do.

 

This lumpia meal is only P50.  Nothing quite extra special about it,  but,   hey,  for it's price,  I wouldn't complain.  I am not sure if this comes with a dipping sauce because there wasn't any in our take out bag.  It would be great with a sweet and sour dip.

 

Adobo Connection

We were finally able to try Adobo Connection at their Robinsons Magnolia branch last Sunday.  There was quite a number of adobo varieties to choose from and deciding which to try didn't come easy. 

 

I finally decided to have the Chicken Adobo sa Gata,  while hubs tried their Adobo Flakes.

 

My adobo sa gata was pretty good.  It was very creamy and the flavors blended really well.   The adobo flakes were good, too,  although I would have wanted it a tad saltier.  Will we come back for seconds?  I think so.  There are still several items on the menu that looked interesting.

BreadTalk's I-Forgot-The-Name-Of-This

 

Yup,  this new item on Breadtalk's menu may look weird and funny,  but I assure you that it is just as good as BT's other offers.

 

Soft chiffon,   pork floss with a creamy filling... How can this go wrong!

Lucky Me Pancit Palabok

This packet came free with each of the 2L Coke Zero I bought at SM Hypermart early this week.  I have been seeing this on the shelves for quite a while now but never really bothered to try until it came free.   Only then did I realize how much I have been missing!  Because surprisingly,   Lucky Me Pancit Palabok is really good!  Luck for me that I bought 4 Cokes.   I now have three more packets to enjoy in the coming  days.

Goya Choco Hazelnut Spread

When I read good reviews saying that Goya's version of hazelnut spread was more chocolatey than  other brands,   I knew that Goya was the brand for me.  

When I got home from the grocery,   I immediately toasted several slices of white bread,  opened the tub and slathered the choco spread on each.    I took a bite and  knew the reviews were right.  And that  I picked the perfect brand for me.  :)

Papa John's Pizza

Maybe we were just expecting too much.  We were so excited to find this huge pizza oozing with toppings and cheese when we opened the box.   It was good, alright.  Good but not really that great.  A bit sweet for our taste.   We still prefer our pizzas salty,  oily and a bit on the "maasim" side to sweet.

Friday's

Buffalo wings... Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta... and Nachos... the perfect dates on a girls' night out! Food was great,   but servings could be a little bigger.

 

MUJI

Muji certainly isn't your very affordable shopping place but quality makes up for the price.   I am not a regular shopper.  In fact,  I have been there only once.   But I would surely want to window shop again whenever I can.  I love its hardwood floors,   high ceilings and overall feel of the place.

Shakey's Manager's Choice Shouldn't Be The Choice

This has got to be the saddest looking pizza I have seen lately.   I am so disappointed when our pizza delivery from Shakey's gave us this large sized Manager's Choice the other night.  Crust was all curled up and dry,  in fact the entire pizza was dry!  Toppings were scanty and again,  dry.  There was hardly any pool of melted cheese on top.  Those slivers of green bell peppers and onions are a pathetic sight.  Really,   Shakey's,  after all these decades,  have your pizzas gone this low?

  

Speculoos Cookie Butter

There has been so much raves about this.  I have to admit I got curious enough to order a tub online.   And I am glad I did.

BonChon Chicken

Who doesn't love BonChon Chicken!  Having newly opened at SM Bicutan,    BonChon has easily become our Friday lunch staple since.

Pancake House' Classic Roast Beef

This still remains as my favorite from among the items on the menu of Pancake House.  The classics are still the ones to beat.  And this one has not changed after all these years!   It is still as delicious as ever!  I have missed this!!!

DQ's Moolatte

I love these!  Who needs frapps when you can enjoy these for far less.  Unbelievably reasonable for just about P50!  

 

 

Smokey's

I didn't know it is still around.   I couldn't even remember when I last had a Smokey's!  

Luk Foo Cantonese Kitchen

It was the other Luk Foo at Puregold in E. Rodriguez that had more tables available that noon;   the one with  shabu shabu in their menu.    Food wasn't as great as the LF without the shabu shabu,  though,   even if  the servers claimed they have the same kitchen.

 

Mandarin Sky For The nth Time

We are never let down by Mandarin Sky.   It was our nth time here and we still ended up with bulging happy bellies at the end of the meal.  

Lipton Chamomile Herbal Infusion

 

Some call it tea.  Others call it infusion.  But however you might want to call it,   you will love it for the relaxing effect it will have on you!

 

 It comes in bags that makes it much easier to prepare.

Maybelline Pure Blush Mineral

When it is from Maybelline,  then it must be good.  I guess this applies to their mineral blush, as well.   I am not a make-up guru,  though.   All I know is that if something that I put on my face makes me look prettier,   then that something must be worth the buy.

 

That is exactly what this blush does.   It gives me that just-pinched-on-the-cheek look,  and it lasts me the entire day.  No retouching needed.

 

And this mini kabuki blush applicator is a great extra treat that comes with the powder blush. 

Famous Belgian Waffles

It is so refreshing to discover that not all good and delicious things have to be expensive. This I found out when I tried Famous Belgian Waffles in SM Bicutan one morning.

 
Really now,  can it get any more reasonable than this pricelist?!!!

Watch as your waffle is prepared right at the counter.

 

I chose the Banana Chocolate waffle,  one of the my favorite combinations in desserts.

 

 It was fast... it was hot...   folded into a paper bag  for easy munching.  Will I come back for more?  Oh,  most definitely yes.
