18 Days Coffee Roaster

Coffee
I am a very recent coffee convert.   For years,   I have been trying to learn the art of coffee drinking but never succeeded.   Until I read up on all the health benefits coffee has to offer,  most specially on memory enhancment and dementia prevention.    That got me going.
My body is not new to caffeine.   Being a Coca Cola addict for years   (yes,   I drink this soda morning,  noon,   night and midnight,  no kidding!),    it somehow helped me switch to this new addiction more easily.

Thanks to Kaoko,   a dear friend,   who told me about this little shop in Cash 'n Carry where you can buy freshly ground coffee by weight.
Coffee

They have a lot of local beans that you  choose from and you can have them mixed and matched to suite your taste and ground just the way you like them;   fine,  medium or coarse.     Your ground coffee  will be in pretty little pouches like these,    freshly ground and sealed to preserve their flavor and aroma.

  1. Gits, while you're at it, do try Figaro's barako coffee. The aroma is incredible! You can ask them to grind it for you.. just make sure you transfer it to an airtight container and put in the fridge agad to maintain its freshness.

  2. Doc, invest in a burr grinder. We found out that it is better to buy whole beans and grind them just before brewing. Kasi whole beans still have their natural oils and all. Also, don't stock up on ground coffee because they tend to dry out.

I got used to the familiar grinding sound every morning when my husband grinds coffee beans. Parang alarm clock na nga eh - ginigising ako lagi sa umaga hahaha.

    1. Thanks, J. That is exactly what I am planning to get soon. I saw this Krups tiny grinder sa mall. Read on reviews about it online and they all say it is mighty good for the price and for its size.

Next buy ko yan for sure. For now, I am trying to find that perfect coffee for me. Still trying different brands aroudn eh.

Ive stopped using the drip-coffee maker. I prefer the coffee press to those bulky coffee makers on the counter top. The filter paper daw kasi in the drip method filters din the oils in the coffee, thus removing some of its goodness. Plus, the press saves me on my electric bill. hahaha...

Will blog the grinder when I get one. Soon! Thanks!
