Delimondo Corned Beef: Ranch Style

IMG_2501_resize
Delimondo is a local brand but it is one of the more expensive canned corned beef brands  I have ever tried.   Great raves about this product convinced me to give it a try.

And I am glad I did.

It is easy to prepare.   Just open the can,   Mince some onions.  Saute.. and voila!

You get a 'saucy',  not oily,   corned beef dish every time.  I didn't have to add anymore salt nor other spices because it was seasoned perfectly already.

Some may argue that it tastes just like any other corned beef.  But I think,  more than the taste,   it is the quality of the beef that makes it a cut above the rest.  Walang anggo,  as they call it.  Walang beefy lansa.    Bit of  a warning,  though.    The can is good for two not-very-hungry bellies only.

  3. hmmm, i should buy that. i see it in landmark but havent tried one yet. we'd always hoard purefoods in blue can <3

  4. oh! i hope you like it too, pinkcookies. medyo much more mahal than purefoods pero less salty, and less maanggo. walang beefy lansa. and i like the quality of the shreds ng meat.

  5. Wow, ganda ng photos mo. Anyhoo, thanks for finally blogging about this. It looks great, though I prefer dry corned beef

  6. thanks, kitten. ako din actually. i prefer the dry stringy corned beef. isaute ko sana ito until mag dry pero parang mahirap. baka madurog. but it is good talga, pramis. worth trying naman.
i am still looking for a dry corned beef brand. anong gamit mo?

  7. I'll check if our Pinoy grocery outlets here carry this brand of corned beef. Bakit masabaw? Did you add any liquid during the preparation?

  8. bertN, i hope you can try this. gawang Enrile daw, kaya mahal and masarap. hahaha... actually a 'creation' of the daughter yata. basta company ng mga enrile. anyway, it is really masabaw. broth naman not oil, unlike some local brands. probably extend sauteeing time para magdry up some of the liquid. :)

  12. Oh wow! I love Delimondo Corned Beef! :) it's better than the local brands talaga... The shreds are long and tender, the taste is rich. I read/heard before that you have to cook the corned beef in its own juices for a long time to dry it out - just like how the old American corned beefs are prepared. I've tried it first at Petra & Pilar, the restaurant that sells the corned beef in Pasong Tamo, Makati. You can buy a can and ask the resto to prepare it for you. A bit pricey, as you are going to pay for the can and cooking costs, pero totally worth it :D

    1. mmsp, i agree. it is really a cut above the rest. specially the quality of the meat. i wish i had the patience that night to dry out the broth/juices, kaya lang i was so excited to try it na eh. next time, ill try it dry. ;)

  13. Oooh. Expensive nga ito, that's why I haven't tried it, since I am quite happy with a certain popular local brand. Hehe. But I guess, it must be the quality of the meat, right? Next time, will truly consider it. :)

    1. Che, it is ma-broth... brothy, is there even such a word, hahaha! masabaw. not really oily. yung top layer lang, just like purefoods, may parang oil. pero the dish itself turns out masabaw. wet corned beef. longer sauteeing time siguro would help dry it up a bit. :)

  15. This brand is being served in Baguio Country Club. Yes it is not oily, it is very moist actually, because of the broth in it when it was corned.
