Country Chicken House

If there is any other chicken I've known ever since I little other than Max's and Savory, that would have to be the roasted chicken of Country Chicken House.

It has been ages though since I last tried this and I was glad to find that their take-out outlet along Amoranto St. still operates. And I was even more glad to find that the place has expanded and has other products to offer.

But the main star would have to be their roast whole chicken, chinese style, roasted right in this huge oven!

This is a must-try. Juicy.... tender....perfectly oven roasted.

We love taking this to picnics, potlucks, parties.... oh yes, and they deliver now, too!

  2. bertn, it is deelish actually. comes with a brown sauce. the taste would be closer to Savory than Max's, since both are roasted chinese style. but i'd say Country Chicken is a lot more juicy and tasty than Savory.

u8mypinkcookies, naku sis, wala ata here sa atin sa south. thats exactly why i havent had this for years! when my mom retired from teaching sa Chiang Kai Shiek College sometime in the '90s, di na kami halos naka enjoy nito regularly. sa chinatown kasi ang branch na suki namin nito e. sayang no!

  6. I like this a lot. Very flavorful. Too bad, the branch closest to me stopped operations. I'm sure you also remember Holly Chicken.

  8. em dy, hmmmm, i dont quite remember Holly Chicken, but im pretty sure it was good too. my hubby recalls Robina though. same taste as Country Chicken daw.

here in the south of manila, we never even had a branch of Country Chicken, ever. so we have to drive all the way to Retiro just to buy.

  10. Hey Doktora, favorite ko rin yang Country Chicken. They have a branch here in Masangkay in Binondo. I would agree with you that it's one of the best roasted chicken around. Thanks for sharing your very palatable post!

  11. I discovered this one while pregnant yearsssss ago, somewhere in QC. The chicken is flavorful, kahit walang sauce. But with the sauce its 110% mas masarap!

Too bad wala dito sa amin sa East yan. :(

  12. My friend owns this chain, he's a staunch supporter of it.

The food's great and pretty accessible but I'm more of a fan of Savory, then this, then Max.

    Peace.

  13. Hi Gita! This is one of my favorite chicken restos. Like you, I find it better than Max's and even Savory's.
It has a sort of Chinese herb flavor that I just love.

  14. dennis, actually, sa masangkay kami noon bumibili. my mom used to teach at Chiang kai Shiek college and thats the nearest branch. so she always brings home a box. yumminess no!

mindy, kami din, walang branch here sa south... so bihira lang talaga kami makavisit sa amoranto st. in manila... but yes, it is very flavorful indeed!

ozy, it is chinese-owned, right? well, thats ok if you prefer savory to country chicken. kanya kanyang taste diba. :-)

ruy, yea, this is the only roasted chicken i enjoy. it does have a chinese timpla to it no! yum! ;-)
