Flat Tops

The stripes are still as orange as ever. And the taste has never changed. It is the same chocolate nugget I used to bite into when I was in elementary school decades ago. Long before Hershey's chocolates, Cadbury's Fruit and Nut bars and Nestle Crunch flooded our grocery stalls, Flat Tops was one of the best.

Sari sari stores repack them and sell them in smaller bags of 6 for P10., way way more affordable than imported chocolates.

Sumire saved one for herself right away, while Hana stashed some in her locker ahead of their other Pinky friends! Wise girls!

  1. Hello Doc! Happy New Year to you! I just saw your comment sa Kritikal Kritiks on Beowulf! It was a really nice movie.

Nice to know a fellow 80s kid! Nakapunta ka na ba sa Nostalgia Manila? They have lots of the good old stuff there as well.

Thanks again for the visit, and I will be sure to visit your nice blog again. Nice anime figures, by the way!

  6. The sari-sari store across from my high school used to sell this by piece. This is one of my favorites, too - sometimes I still buy a pack at the grocery just because!

Sis gita, would you be featuring Serg chocolates too? Those football or egg-shaped ones. Those were fun. :)

  18. Hi Gita, I was reading a blog about flat tops, when somehow Serg's chocs came to mind, so I googled it and it brought me to your blog. I'm suddenly feeling homesick for Philippine chocs. I'll make sure to buy a lot of these to bring back home to the grandkids on my next visit. I think we only had curly tops during my time. I'm glad these oldies but goodies (just like me LOL) are still around.
