Sun Call & Text International SIM

Just when I thought I couldn't be any happier with my Sun prepaid service, their Call & Text International SIM came out! I got the chance to try it a while ago to see if true to their promise, I will only spend P1.00 per SMS to my sister in Arizona.

The new sim is preloaded with P5.00 worth of regular load and free 5 mins of international call. I texted my sister as soon as I put the sim in my phone. I wasn't expecting much because we all know how much Sun needs to improve on its signal coverage and SMS delivery time... but lo and behold, several minutes later, I got a call from my sister on my cellphone! She got my text!

I told her to hang up and let me try to see if I could call her back using my new sim, easily and fast.... and again, to my surpise, I was able to, easily and fast!

Who needs a landline when you can call abroad cheaper with the Sun Call &Text International SIM! At $.10 a minute, that is pretty tough to beat, don't you think? Even Yotsuba agrees.

Trust Sun to come up with packages and features that are unbelievably sulit and tipid.

  5. Paganda na paganda ang service ng Sun. I'd been Sun's loyal subscriber since 2003. I can still remember they were having that terribly bad service back then (traffic congestion, no network signal, etc). Pero ngayon, I think no network provider can surpass the quality of service they are offering...
    Galing ng Sun!

  7. Does the P1 per text work with Australia as well? My mom's in Australia, and im finding cheaper ways to communicate with her. Australian network kasi gamit niya, and when I text her. P15 naccharge ng globe sakin.

  8. anonymous, sorry, australia isnt included in the list of countries with P1 text charge... P15 pesos din ata sha.

but the calls are just for P5 a minute, i think.

  9. Would you know where I can buy this? I went to a Sun shop here in Cavite and apparently they don't have this na raw. Is it true? =(

  10. The Average Jane, naku, im not sure ha. pero parang meron pa naman. i would think na kung phased out na, my sim wouldnt work anymore on intl texts, but it still does eh.
try going directly sa Sun Shop na lang or calling na lang the Sun customer service mismo para mas reliable ang sagot. i hope you can still get one.

  12. hi, alyssa. nope, the other peson abroad does not need to have a Sun sim. i text my sister in arizona and i send it to her regular US phone with a regular US mobile carrier.
i swear, this sim is super sulit! ;)
it works for hawaii, too. check na lang the websites or other blogs for other countries included in the lowest rate.

  13. well, i rechecked and saw that it only said US (main).. i dont really know what US main includes but i think Wisconsin is a part of it. Guess i'll have to go through trying it nalang. THANKS talaga, you really did help me! (not to mention you gave me hope. hehe) God Bless! :)

  14. hi, alyssa. im pretty sure Wisconsin is included in the list. Mainland daw, when i asked before, is the USA near canada. yung hindi mainland are offshore states like eg. Guam. swerte lang nga kami na Hawaii is included in the list. ;) go try it. you wont regret it.

  17. Hi! Ms. Gita ask ko lang lang po kung pwede yung text sa dubai?

  18. sorry for the late reply, rychy... i think pwede. just check the official site. some countries kasi, parang 5php per text eh. hawaii and mainland US lang ang sure ko na one peso lang.

  19. do i have to load some sort of "special load"? or any regular load will do?

do i need to do annoying registrations before the services would work?
(i could just load it then start texting?)

    sorry for so many questions.
    slightly off topic-
seeing as how communicating to the US in a cost effective way here in the phils has been solved.. what about the US end? you've mentioned your sister texts and calls you, does she know/use any cost effective service providers that isn't expensive? what kind of service/rates? my girlfriend's mobile is sprint.
thanks in advance for the help..

    1. regular load is fine. just pop in your international sim, then text away! it is that simple.

my sister's line has free text yata to the philippines eh. nilagay nya na add on, i think. tipid na din.
