The Chocolate Kiss Cafe

After that long walk around U.P. campus, Mon and I felt that we deserved a good snack. And what better place is there than The Chocolate Kiss Cafe right inside the campus. Having read so much good reviews about it, we were excited to try it so we headed for the Bahay ng Alumni, ground floor.

The interiors was simple and cozy. There weren't many people inside. Maybe it is because it was Black Saturday. The service was warm and friendly, and fast.

We ordered the much raved about Devil's Food Cake. It is a chocolate cake with fudge filling and marshmallow frosting. It seemed more like meringue icing to me. I must have expected too much from everything that I've read because the cake didn't turn out that superbly for us. Mon even described it as "your regular wedding cake".

This is their Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. It is a New York-style cheesecake with chocolate chip bits. Sad to say, this didn't work out for me either. It wasn't anything bad really. It was just alright.

This is their Date Walnut Cake. A slice has dates and walnut bits in butter cake and icing. Well, it is a good thing we added this to our orderlist because this cake saved the day for us! Yey! The best part of this cake is the icing! Creamy and buttery indeed.

The experience wasn't really that bad though. There was still much to try at TCKC. Maybe we will have better luck with their hot dishes than their desserts.

  1. I loved their Devil's Food Cake. We'd never miss to order one whenever we'd go to Choco Kiss. Then we'd buy a whole cake to bring at home.. :)
